Thank you for your transformational gift to the Forever Campaign.

Your gift is making a difference in the lives of the children of children in vulnerable circumstances, the families stepping forward to lovingly embrace them, and the Gift of Adoption organization itself - in our long term commitment to ensuring that no child who is ready to be adopted into a U.S. family goes unadopted due to a financial barrier.

This report shows that while we have a long way to go - we have already begun making progress in technology, staffing and accelerating grant awards - thanks to you.

Campaign Funding

Raise $6M to invest to increase capacity to scall through technology and marketing/fundraising adds to staff, and to accelerate grants.

We want to begin by thanking the 34 donors who are investing in the GOA Forever Campaign. Your generosity brings us to $2,530,000 toward our $6,000,000 goal.

$1.2M or 20% of the gifts invested are commitments made from our National Board alone; with an additional $1M+ being given by those serving on GOA’s Strategic Advisory Board for the past 3 years. These talented, devoted leaders have been instrumental in developing our ambitious FY2030 growth plan and are now following that up with substantial investments in its success.

We cannot thank them enough.

Special Matching Gift: a generous couple is contributing a minimum of $600,000 and 10% of the campaign total up to $1mm

Technology

Rorey adopted in 2023

The Forever Campaign allows us to invest $500,000 in technology improvements from FY26-30.

The FY26-30 Growth Plan calls for upgrading our website, leveraging existing and forming new pro bono SEO, SMO, advertising, and strategic partnerships, and deploying a budget of $500,000 over five years for technology and marketing spends to improve operations and reach desired audiences.

  • Website upgrade. Falkon Technologies, a company introduced to GOA by a member of our GOA SC Chapter Board, will complete the website upgrade pro bono with a launch target date of August 1. Falkon Technologies has nearly three decades of web and software expertise and an award-winning UX/UI design track record. They are an ideal partner to elevate GOA's digital presence. A refreshed website is essential because it's often the first impression donors, families, and volunteers have of our organization, and it needs to reflect the credibility and impact of our mission. This is a $50K+ savings that we may redeploy to further our technology goals.
  • Falkon Technologies is also committing to a minimum two-year pro bono cybersecurity package (and likely longer) covering centralized IT management, continuous monitoring and threat response, staff help desk support, disaster recovery backup, and staff training.
  • Falkon Technologies is also preparing proposals to migrate our outdated application database into a modern solution which will greatly improve operating efficiencies.
  • With pro bono support from Strategic Seven, our new Marketing Director is auditing GOA's SEO performance and Google Ads history (Google grant-funded and paid) to shape our go-forward digital marketing strategy.

Staff

Jordan adopted in 2022

The Forever Campaign allows us to invest $2.5m in four new staff members from FY26-30 to reach our goals of growing revenue from $5.7m to $10m and qualified applicants from 1,000 to 1,300.

According to our plan:

  • We have hired a full-time Grant Writer, Gabi Warren, and a part-time independent contractor Grant Writer, Trina Bates. Their primary focus for the coming 6 months is to increase grant submission productivity. The entire grant team will increase new foundation submissions from 125/year to 410/year; a YOY increase of nearly 400%.
  • We have added the Marketing Director role and have hired Heather Snyder into the position. Her primary focus for the coming 6 months is to lead the website overhaul and start pursuing new business opportunities that will increase revenue and bring more applicants in our priority grant areas.

We will engage an Executive Search Firm to find an experienced Individual and Planned Giving Officer with executive leadership potential.

Great companies are often defined by their origin stories, which illuminate the values, grit, and vision of their founders. And Gift of Adoption is no exception. Gift of Adoption began with the vision of co-founders Gene and Lucy Wyka. Gene, legally blind at 21 from brittle diabetes, met Lucy in college and soon thereafter the couple married. They built their family through adoption after facing infertility. Though their lives were full raising 3 children, Gene running a business and dealing with the complications from Gene’s diabetes – Gene and Lucy looked outward, not inward. Their vision—to help children in need of families—became the foundation of Gift of Adoption’s grit and generosity today. Here is their story...
